Installation and Use
Topaz Studio is distributed online via a small internet-enabled package that will download the majority of the app after you start the installation procedure. The entire installation procedure is easy and fast, and after the app is deployed on your home or work desktop/laptop you can instantly start working on editing your images. The app supports image format association, image format conversion, and streamlined export options.
The user interface of the tool is darker than many other similar, but it is pleasing to the eye and has some unique features. For example, the Filter search tool has a much larger footprint than it is usual for this app type, with large real-time effect thumbnails for each found filter. Other UI elements are stylized. Immediately on the left side of the large canvas area is the black icon shortcut bar for loading recent, favorite, new, and featured image files, while on the right side is the black shortcut icon bar for most commonly used editing tools. On the far left are floating properties tabs for all currently used filters, tools, effects, and layers.
