欧洲卡车模拟2是一款真实度非常高的卡车模拟经营游戏，玩家可以在游戏中完成任务，购买车卡，雇佣专属卡车司机打造一个属于自己的卡车团队，在后期，你还可以建立公司，创造卡车商业帝国。
作为卡车游戏的两个品牌，和SCS开发的18轮大卡车系列相比，《Euro Truck Simulator》更注重各个方面的真实性。在本作中，玩家甚至可以自定义卡车的排气效果；超过60个欧洲城市，将使你的行程有可能非常遥远。
首先进入游戏后的玩家只有少部分的资金，这些资金根本无法支持组建公司，因此玩家在最初开始的阶段需要不断的四处打工赚钱，积累一下创业资金，在接取任务阶段，每一个任务都有详细的信息，涉及此次运营中的各个方面，玩家要依据自己的情况选择合适的任务，地图会自动导航，为玩家分配合理的运行路线，只要安全的送到目的地就可以领取报酬，但是报酬会因为任务以及货物变化而有所不同。
有了足够的资金后玩家就可以开始组建自己的车队了，当然组建车队后的资金以及车库方面玩家需要进行一些贷款的，下面就是两种贷款的方式以及效果。
少量贷款：资金充足可以不贷款或者少量贷款，慢慢的存钱买卡车以及车库，剩下的钱雇佣司机等，发展是比较缓慢的。
大量贷款：大额度贷款，至少贷款50万以上，可以迅速购买卡车以及车库，快速雇佣司机，不过一旦还款失败就会失败。
